The Match Play World Championship (MPWC) will bring 64 of the top-rated and ranked disc golfers together to play a bracket-style match play event to be completed over a five-month period, culminating in the semi-finals and finals in Emporia, Kansas from October 30 to November 1. The first-place finisher in the event will win $15,000. The runner-up will win $10,000. Third and fourth places will win $5,000 and $3,000 respectively. The fifth through eighth place finishers will each win $1,000.
Match play is an exciting way to compete as a disc golfer and even more exciting for fans to follow! Match play has grown in popularity and the unique format provides an opportunity for using a different strategy than what disc golfers typically employ playing traditional stroke play. The event will crown a champion who absolutely has competed successfully against the best disc golfers in the world.
